Defence Minister Guido Crosetto
said Thursday that Italy would be willing to contribute to a
future international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
"I hope to talk about peace, about peacekeeping, as soon as
possible in Ukraine, but also in Gaza and Lebanon," Crosetto
told reporters at the end of the 5-5 defence ministers meeting
in Madrid when asked about Italy deploying peacekeepers in
Ukraine.
"We are willing to play this role, a role in which we have
always distinguished ourselves as a nation".
A peacekeeping force in Ukraine is expected to be among the
issues French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime
Minister Donald Tusk discuss during a meeting in Warsaw on
Thursday.
