(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 3 - Italy was a global protagonist with
the first edition of the Ryder Cup to be held in the Bel Paese,
Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché said Tuesday after the event
ended with Europe beating USA by 16.5 points to 11.5 in Rome
Sunday.
"271,191, that is the amazing number of spectators who came to
Rome to take part in the #Ryder Cup," she wrote on X.
"A result, beyond all expectations and predictions, that maks us
proud to see Italy a protagonist in the world". (ANSA).
