(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 7 - Inter and Atalanta boosted their
chances of direct qualification for the last 16 of the Champions
League by beating Arsenal and Stuttgart 1-0 and 2-0 respectively
away from home on Wednesday.
Turkey midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu converted a penalty at the
end of the first half to earn Inter a win that puts them fifth
in the table at the mid-way stage of the first round with 10
points from four games.
Atalanta are four places further back with eight points after
goals by Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman and Italy's Nicolo
Zaniolo gave the Bergamo side an important win.
The teams that finish in the top eight qualify directly for the
last 16.
Juventus are 11th with seven points after drawing 1-1 at Lille
on Tuesday.
Seven-time European champions AC Milan are 20th with six points
following their 3-1 victory over holders Real Madrid.
Bologna are 31st with just one point after Tuesday's 1-0 home
