(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 9 - A suspended catwalk that will allow
visitors a close view of Rome's Trevi Fountain while the Baroque
masterpiece is being cleaned was inaugurated on Saturday.
"The perspective is spectacular", Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri
said at the unveiling of the walkway, which will remain in place
until December while maintenance work is carried out to remove
limestone deposits and filth.
The temporary addition to the monument will accommodate about
130 people at a time, Gualtieri said. (ANSA).
