(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 11 - Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi
said Monday that he was astounded that Bologna Mayor Matteo
Lepore said that around 300 "blackshirts" had been sent to his
city after violence related to demonstrations there at the
weekend.
On Saturday, anti-riot police clashed with demonstrators who
were taking part in an anti-fascist march organized by left-wing
collectives in Bologna against the demonstration held nearby by
members of the far-right Casa Pound and Rete dei Patrioti
groups.
"I am astonished by the statements made by Mayor Lepore to whom,
as is only right and proper, the government has always
guaranteed every form of convinced, loyal cooperation, most
recently on the occasion of the recent flooding in the city,"
Piantedosi said
He added that it was "serious to insinuate alleged direction or
intervention 'from Rome'''. (ANSA).
