(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 12 - Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri on
Tuesday said he believed the C metro line can be saved,
commenting planned cuts in the budget bill that could put the
infrastructure at risk.
Gualtieri said, after talks with Premier Giorgia Meloni as well
as with other members of the government coalition and
opposition: "I think I can say the conditions exist to save
metro C" given the "bipartisan amendments to recuperate
resources" for the subway line in interview to TgCom24.
Potential 425-million cuts in the budget would not allow the
completion of the infrastructure with "construction sites
reaching Piazza Venezia so far", said Gualtieri. (ANSA).
