(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 13 - Antonino Turicchi, president of ITA
Airways, said Wednesday the Italian flag carrier would close the
year with a turnover of three billion euros and a positive EBIT.
ITA is the smaller heir to chronically loss-making Alitalia.
"This company that needed the money of Italians to be born is
now, in fact, profitable," sais Turicchi at the G7 toureism
summit in Florence.
"Last year, after a year, we reached profit at an operating
level, this year we will close with 3 billion in turnover and
therefore we will hopefully have a positive EBIT."
The European Union has just OK'd a merger between ITA and
Lufthansa. (ANSA).
