(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 13 - The Brussels offices of a Italian
manager were searched late on Tuesday by Carabinieri police in
collaboration with the Belgian authorities in an operation
linked an investigation into an alleged Milan-based snooping
gang accused of compiling dossiers on commission by harvesting
data from highly sensitive national databases, sources said on
Wednesday.
Antonio Rossi, a manager for an auditing firm, is allegedly
linked to Samuele Calamucci, an alleged hacker and aide to ex
supercop Carmine Gallo, who is suspected of being one of the
group's ringleaders.
Computers and other devices were seized during the search, the
sources said.
Rossi was allegedly meant to create a London-based 'clone' of
Equalize, an investigative company at the centre of the probe.
