(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 13 - Elon Musk on Wednesday retweeted a
post on X by a right-wing Dutch commentator saying he and
Premier Giorgia Meloni were right and President Sergio
Mattarella was wrong in a furore over a decision by a Rome court
regarding the government's controversial policy of taking
migrants to be processed in Albania.
Mattarella said in a statement that Italy can take care of
itself after Musk wrote that the Rome judges who nixed the
detention of a second batch of migrants at an Italian-run centre
in Albania needed to go, sparking claims from opposition parties
that the world's richest man was meddling in Italian affairs.
Musk, who is set to be in charge of a government efficiency
drive in United States President-elect Donald Trump's new
administration, reposted a comment on that statement by Eva
Vlaardingerbroek.
"No. @elonmusk & PM @GiorgiaMeloni are right," the post said.
"The fact that the judges of the Rome court believe they are
above the government and the democratic process is madness.
"They are not a Constitutional Court, so they are overstepping
their jurisdiction in violation of the separation of powers".
