(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 14 - Iconic Italian singer and songwriter
Francesco Guccini, 84, said on Thursday that he is quitting X
because the platform's owner Elon Musk "has ideas that are light
years away from mine".
"I have no interest in communicating on a platform that
contributes to shape narratives and manipulate political
thoughts", said the artist, known for his repertoire including
socially engaged songs such as La Locomotiva and Eskimo as well
as more introspective and intimate ballades including Vedi Cara,
Autogrill, Signora Bovary and Cyrano - the soundtrack of two
Italian generations.
"I will continue to serenely live my life in Pavana", a town in
the Appenines near Pistoia where Guccini has retired.
"I don't think anyone will miss him on X", he said. (ANSA).
