(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 9 - An explosion at an Eni plant outside
Florence took place while workers were loading tankers, Tuscany
Governor Eugenio Giani said, adding that some of the nine
injured had been hurt by air displacement.
So far two people are confirmed dead while three are missing and
feared dead after the blast at Calenzano.
"The explosion occurred at a shelter while the tankers were
being loaded," said Giani at the blast site.
"Prosecutor Tescaroli, whom I thank, immediately coordinated,
with the utmost speed, the investigations and inspections.
"At present, we are talking about two dead, three missing and
nine injured. The injured are not all necessarily due to the
direct consequence of the explosion.
"There are also people who were hospitalized with head trauma
because in the factories around the explosion they were hit by
the air displacement. "The deceased people are those who were in
the shelter with the tankers". (ANSA).
