(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 17 - The Senate on Tuesday voted to create
a commission of inquiry into Italy's banking, finance and
insurance system with 84 votes in favour, none against and 51
abstentions.
The commission will focus especially on protecting savers,
access to credit for young people, families and firms, including
small businesses, and lenders' relations with clients, taking
into consideration technological developments such as AI.
Premier Giorgia Meloni has frequently criticised opposition
parties for bank bailouts granted by past governments. (ANSA).
