Berlusconi may be among George W. Bush portraits (ANSA) - New York, April 3 - Three-time Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi may be a subject in a series of portraits by former United States President George W. Bush. On Thursday, Bush told NBC's Today show that the Bush library in Dallas was opening a show of his paintings of world leaders, entitled The Art of Leadership: A President's Personal Diplomacy.

The subjects - which reportedly include Tony Blair, Vladimir Putin and possibly Berlusconi - have not seen their portraits, Bush told Today correspondent Jenna Bush Hager, his daughter.

The paintings are of leaders Bush dealt with during his two-term presidency, which included a number of friendly visits with Berlusconi.

The former president, who has taken to painting as a hobby since leaving office, said he painted the portraits "in the spirit of friendship". The Today show is set to unveil the works Friday.
