Six arrests in Italian aviation authority corruption probe
ENAC chairman calls it 'first time' and limited scope
07 April, 17:46"We are very sorry, but certainly this is a very limited episode," commented ENAC Chairman Vito Riggio. "The three ENAC officials - a manager of the Urbe airport and two technicians, were arrested for modest dealings," said Riggio.
The ENAC chief added that it was the "first time" such a thing had happened to ENAC, and that the employees involved had been suspended as soon as the aviation authority was informed of the investigation.
The arrests were made by the Roman flying squad and the border police of the Ciampino airport.
