Ukraine takes back control of eastern city admin building
Hopes other two cities' HQs will follow
08 April, 16:03On Monday demonstrators urging independence for the region, along the lines of that declared by the peninsula of Crimea, seized government buildings in the three cities.
Russia recently annexed Crimea following a referendum.
Kiev and the West say the referendum in the peninsula, where the majority of people are Russian speakers, was illegal.
Moscow has thousands of troops massed along its border with eastern Ukraine. It insists it has no intention of invading Ukraine but says it reserves the right to defend ethnic Russians in the country.
