Deouty Premier, Foreign Minister and
centre-right post Berlusconi Forza Italia (FI) party leader
Antonio Tajani on Monday reaffirmed his support for outgoing
European Commission President and European People's Party (EPP)
candidate for a second term at the helm of the EU executive.
"The elections have confirmed the trust in our political
family." Tajani wrote on X, publishing some pictures showing him
in Brussels with the President of the European Commission.
"Forza Italia will play a central role in the EPP, starting with
the choice of who will lead the EU Commission. In Brussels I
reiterated my support for Ursula von der Leyen, with whom I
spoke about priorities for Italy and the EU."
