A centre-left Calabrian mayor was
among 10 people arrested for 'Ndrangheta vote buying in a probe
into the Calabria-based mafia's infiltration of the political
world on Friday.
The Democratic Party (PD) mayor of Casabona near Crotone,
Francesco Seminario, 54, was arrested along with centrist
councillor Anselmo De Giacomo, 40, in the probe led by the
Catanzaro anti-mafia office which was codenamed Nemesis.
Seminario was elected in 2021 at the head of a civic list called
Let's Start Again after the city council was dissolved for mafia
infiltration.
