The seasonally adjusted industrial
production index went down 0.4% in September compared to August
while on an annual basis the calendar-adjusted index decreased
by 4%, ISTAT said on Friday.
Meanwhile, after registering a drop in August, retail sales grew
in September both in value and in volume, up 1.2%.
The sale of food products increased in value (+1,7%) and in
volume (+1,5%) as well as sales of non-food product (+0,9% in
value and +1,1% in volume).
On a tendential basis, retail sales increased by 0.7% in value
and 0.3% in volume.
Sales of food products grew by 0.6% in value and dropped by 0.6%
in volume, while those of non-food products increased both in
value and volume (respectively +0.7% and +0.9%).
