'Vespucci meets India, from Mumbai a regard on Italy' is the title of the forum which Italy's main news agency ANSA is organizing in cooperation with Difesa Servizi at Villaggio Italia in Mumbai on November 29 on the 28th leg of the world tour of the Italian Navy's historic training ship.
The Amerigo Vespucci reaches a port in India for the first time.
India has overtaken China as the world's most populous country.
And it presents socio-economic characteristics that make it a key partner for a country vying for relations abroad like Italy.
India, in fact, not only has a higher growth rate even than China, but the average age of the population is among the youngest and it exports first-rate professional figures all over the world.
Indeed an analysis of these aspects and the opportunities they offer will be at the centre of dialogue involving diplomats, journalists, experts and opinion makers that will take place at Villaggio Italia', the 'itinerant multi-annual mini exhibition' to champion Made in Italy and its excellencies, promoted by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, that follows the Amerigo Vespucci ship around the world and will be set up in Mumbai from November 28 until December 2.
Over the course of the ANSA forum, guests will have the opportunity of talking about the success stories of Italians in India and Indians in Italy showcasing an increasingly dynamic development of bilateral relations.
These are stories of development, cultural enrichment, entrepreneurship and social media in which different cultures have met and merged in a prolific fashion.
And they often have as protagonists women who have found success in India against any stereotype.
The forum - which will open on Friday from 15 to 16 local time (10:30-11:30 Italian time) and will be streamed live on the channels of ANSA.it and Indian news agency PTI - will be opened by Italy's Ambassador to India Antonio Bartoli.
A brief illustration via video link of the country's socio-economic portrait taken by TEHA-Ambrosetti and illustrated by Lorenzo Tavazzi will follow.
Speakers will illustrate how Indians see Italy and talk about ongoing activities in training, fashion, the performing arts, cinema and social media, including the CEO of PTI, Vijay Joshi, the director of the Asia Centre of SDA Bocconi, Alessandro Giuliani, actress and entrepreneur Giorgia Andreani, DJ Olly Esse, Youtuber Giulia Raffaello, as well as Bangalore designer Kulsum Shadab, the winner of the sustainability prize of Milan Fashion Week, and Dhruv Kapoo, protagonist of a success story in fashion linked to the Marangoni Institute.
During the Vespucci's stopover in Mumbai and the event on November 29, ANSA will also present a digital photo exhibit which, through about 100 images, vies to provide an insight into Italy and its excellencies and showcase the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
