Work to modernise a stretch of the
high-speed rail line between Rome and Florence from January 7 to
March 4 will bring some disruption and delays, rail company
Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) said Friday.
The work to renew the tracks on the section between Capena and
Gallese and between Settebagni and Rome Tiburtina for a total of
about 20 kilometers will affect High Speed, InterCity and
Regional trains, FS network unity RFI said.
"In particular, some High Speed ;;trains will not make the
commercial stop at Rome Tiburtina", and "timetable changes" are
planned on the Rome Termini hub.
During the period affected by the work, "a reduction in speed
will be necessary with longer travel times" for some trains that
travel on the Orte - Rome section.
"The work involves a total investment of 12 million euros", adds
FS.
"To minimize inconvenience, construction activities will take
place during the night," the group emphasizes.
