Italy's postal police said Friday that
it dealt with 18,714 cases of online scams in 2024, an increase
of 15% on the 16,325 it handled in 2023.
It said the amount of money stolen in these cases amounted to
181 million euros, up 32% on the 137 million euros pocketed by
scammers the previous year.
It said the number of people investigated over online scams was
stable at around 3,500.
