The January sales got under way in
cities all over Italy on Saturday, with eight million Italians
set to make purchases, according to an Ipsos survey for
small-and-medium-sized-entreprise association Confesercenti.
Most of the bargain hunters will focus on clothes and shoes, it
said.
The study said the average budget for the sales will be 218
euros, although it will be higher for those aged 35 to 65, at
238.88 euros, and lower for the under 35s, at 176.27 euros.
