A 30-something man was arrested in
Messina Tuesday after allegedly stabbing to death his
62-year-old mother with 15 stab wounds, police said.
The victim was named as Caterina Pappalardo.
The murder apparently occurred at the height of an argument
between the two in the family home.
Agents from the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad and the
Carabinieri from the Messina provincial command were at the
scene of the alleged murder.
The Messina Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into
the murder.
