The Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, met today with the Minister of Economy, Adrijana Mesarovic. The meeting took stock of the progress of economic relations between Rome and Belgrade, with Italy representing one of the main European investors in Serbia and its third trading partner thanks to an interchange of about 4.5 billion Euros. The growth prospects of bilateral cooperation were also discussed in light of the results of the Trieste Business Forum on 24 May.
"In little more than a year, economic relations between our two countries have recorded a change of pace. We have organised three Business Forums: the first in Belgrade in March 2023, the second in Trieste a few weeks ago, to which a forum dedicated to Innovation was added last December. The opening in Belgrade of the SACE, SIMEST and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti representative offices, together with the financial instruments they have made available, provides our business community with further stimuli to invest in this market," said Ambassador Gori. "We are registering a renewed interest of our entrepreneurs in this market and we expect significant Italian investments in the medium term"
