The Italian Consular Agency in Morón, Argentina, in collaboration with the Polo del '900 of Turin and the Municipality of Morón, organised the first edition of the Video Art Festival in the Argentinean city. The initiative aims to renew the historic link between Italy and Argentina by opening up to the innovative forms of expression of the new generations.
The two days of activities included audiovisual workshops, screenings of contemporary video works, and the presence of university professors Valentina Valentini (La Sapienza) and Flavia Dalila D'Amico (University of Rome Link), who retraced the history, productions and techniques of Italian video art, from the 1970s to the present day.
A competition was also organised in the framework of the Festival, which registered the participation of over 50 young video artists and ended with the awarding of several prizes, including the 'Radici Italiane' prize, promoted and financed by the Consular Agency, which offered an artistic residency at the Polo del '900 in Turin to the winning artist.
The event involved the large community, particularly appealing to young people, who actively participated and had the opportunity to create new and concrete artistic and professional ties with Italy.
