The Consul General of Italy in Metz, Antonella Fontana, took part in a ceremony at the Bligny military cemetery to pay tribute to the Italian soldiers who died during the First World War. Present with the consul were the president of the city council of Florence, Luca Milani; the deputy mayor of Reims and the mayor of Chambery.
The Bligny cemetery is the largest Italian military cemetery of the Great War in France and holds the remains of 3,453 Italian soldiers.
