In Sulaymaniyah, the second city of the Autonomous Region of Iraqi Kurdistan, known for its lively cultural tradition, the Consul General of Italy in Erbil, Michele Camerota, donated 100 illustrated volumes, in Arabic language, of "Pimpa travels to Italy" to the pupils of the Al-Jawahiri primary school.
The initiative, promoted by the Directorate General of the Country System of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and realised in collaboration with the Franco Cosimo Panini publishing house, aims to divulge and make known to a young audience the historical, architectural, gastronomic and landscape beauties of Italy, recounting Pimpa's journey in our peninsula and its territories.
Consul Camerota, recalling that a similar initiative took place in Erbil at the Mar Qaradakh school last year, thanked the school's headmistress, Pakiza Al Zangana, and the governor of Sulaymaniyah, Haval Abubakir, who was present at the event, for their hospitality and for having enthusiastically welcomed the initiative, confirming the excellent relations of friendship that bind Iraqi Kurdistan to Italy.
