The Consulate General of Italy in Bangalore and VSF Global have inaugurated a new VSF office in the Karnataka capital dedicated exclusively to Italian visa applications.
"The centre," says Consul General Alfonso Tagliaferri, "will allow us to significantly increase the service we offer to the public and to cope with the constantly increasing demand for visas, which will grow further as soon as the agreement on mobility and migration between Italy and India is implemented."
The Consulate General of Italy in Bangalore, opened in 2023, serves the south-central states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
During 2024, Italian offices across India processed more than 100,000 enquiries, a total growth of 40 per cent over the previous year. The requests are mainly for business and tourism, but also for study and work: from Bangalore, the undisputed capital of Indian IT, many are seen for scientific research.
"By 2025," Tagliaferri announces, "we expect to reach 115,000.
