Great success for the gala dinner organised by the Italian Embassy in Tbilisi as part of the IX Italian Cuisine Week. The #SCIM2024 celebrations continued with a special event, organised by the Embassy: Funicular, one of the most prestigious restaurants in the Georgian capital with a breathtaking view over the city, hosted a gala dinner to showcase the Mediterranean flavours and extraordinary richness of Campania's cuisine.
This was announced by the Embassy in Tbilisi, adding that Salvatore La Ragione, chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant 'Mammà' in Capri, a true master of the culinary arts, in collaboration with Diego Buttiglione, a young up-and-comerate of Italian cuisine and a finalist in MasterChef Georgia, offered guests his vision of haute cuisine, based on Italian tradition and enriched with fine ingredients.
The two Italian chefs delighted the palates of more than 150 guests, including representatives of Georgian institutions, the diplomatic corps, the business world, and the world of culture. The event was accompanied by the most beautiful pieces of Neapolitan (and other) classical music, performed by Marika Gulordava (soprano), Armaz Darashvili (tenor) and Temur Eliava (pianist).
"This evening is also part of the important promotional event of the Campania Region in Georgia, successfully conceived and implemented by the Italian Embassy. To celebrate the ninth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, we brought to Georgia the flavours and aromas of Campania's cuisine, one of the richest and most varied regional traditions in Italy," said Ambassador Massimiliano D'Antuono, "But Campania is not only gastronomy, goodness and delicacies, but also history, culture and music. This event, accompanied by wonderful Neapolitan songs, fully represents the two arts in perfect harmony: cuisine and music'.
