Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem was performed at the Minsk Philharmonic on the 150th anniversary of its premiere in Milan. The Italian Embassy in Belarus emphasised that the 'extremely rare performance on these stages, the third in as many as 25 years, was a complete success, especially for the more than 500 guests, Belarusian citizens who freely signed up for the event'. The organisation, the embassy adds on its website, was facilitated by the great friendship between Maestro Antonio De Lucia and Maestro Aleksandr Anisimov, who conducted the four soloists, Irina Krikunova (soprano), Irene Molinari (mezzo-soprano), Vincenzo Maria Sarinelli (tenor) and Fulvio Valenti (bass), the Philharmonic Orchestra and the four joint choirs. "Great Italian music," emphasised the embassy, "has no borders and its message of beauty, joy and creativity has reached as far as Minsk. The appreciation received also individually by the three Italian soloists was remarkable'.
