(ANSAmed) - TUNISI, 24 FEB - The second edition of the 'Women Global Investment Wgis' summit of the International Council of Women Entrepreneurs (Cife), Italy-Libya and Tunisia sections, ended in Tripoli.
A two-day event dedicated to female entrepreneurship, with the aim, among others, of promoting, encouraging and accompanying Italian companies abroad.
After the great success of last year's meeting in Tunis, which saw the participation of over 400 delegates from 13 countries, the one in Tripoli focused on the economy and business opportunities in Libya, and was aimed at generating partnerships between entrepreneurial realities of the two countries, which differ in culture, but are close in ambition and business growth.
The sectors involved were oil & gas, infrastructure, construction, public and private medical, green and blue economy, cosmetics, and agribusiness, said Cife Italia president and LMConsulting leader Mariella Liverani. The event was attended by various institutions and business associations from Italy, Bahrain, Spain, Qatar, Ivory Coast, Kuwait, Switzerland, USA, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, France, Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Algeria. The Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, and the Head of the Ice Desk in Tripoli, Luigi D'Aprea, met with the Cife Italia delegation to take stock of future developments of Italian investments in the country.
Also present at the event were Irene Bonassisa, vice president of Cife Italia and president of the Bonassisa Group, which operates in the oil and gas sector, and Monica Bonassisa, CEO of Bonassisa Drilling Company, and the president of the Marisa Bellisario Foundation, Lella Golfo.
Golfo told ANSA "to be happy to have participated for the second consecutive year in this important Summit promoted by Cife, to which we are linked by a partnership signed in 2018. Once again, it was an important opportunity for discussion and dialogue between women, businesswomen and professionals from so many countries. An opportunity for growth for all of us. As an NGO, the Marisa Bellisario Foundation has always promoted missions, training and micro-entrepreneurship projects, but also partnerships and collaborations with women's associations from all over the world. And we are convinced that forums such as the one in Tripoli represent valuable opportunities to share experiences and models and to initiate constructive collaborations that allow women to continue on their path of growth. An equal society is a richer and more peaceful society and greater participation of women in the economy and politics of a country is a key to development and democracy. There is still a long way to go, but the successful participation of the Cife Summits show that it is a road we are willing to travel".
