Opposition Democratic Party (PD)
leader Elly Schlein on Friday accused Premier Giorgia Meloni of
"playing victim" and attacking the president of the association
of victims' families Paolo Bolognesi on the 44th anniversary of
the deadly bombing at the train station of Bologna.
"Playing victim by attacking the president of the association of
victims' families on the day commemorating the 85 victims and
200 wounded of the infamous neofascist massacre at the train
station of Bologna is a deplorable operation", said Schlein.
"The sentence on the massacre and its neofascist and subversive
nature have determined what happened", said the PD leader.
"It is incredible and very grave that, on the day of the
commemoration, the prime minister decided to open a controversy
and attack Paolo Bolognesi".
"Those who run a community should repair fractures, cure wounds,
while Meloni does the opposite: she divides, pitting one against
the other - it's clear that she is unable to guide this
country", concluded Schlein.
