Premier Giorgia Meloni on Monday
hailed Italy's topping the G7 for first-quarter household income
gain with a 4.3% rise.
"The economic data for the first quarter of 2024 give us good
news for Italy: the real income of Italian households grew by
3.4%, marking the strongest increase among all the G7
economies," she said on X, commenting on OECD data.
This means that incomes in Italy are finally growing more than
inflation, after years of loss of purchasing power for
families," she said.
"There is still a lot to be done but these signs tell us that we
are on the right track."
