The growing pressure from the West
on Serbia, particularly on the issues of the Srebrenica
resolution and Kosovo, was underlined by Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov, who stated that Bosnian Serb leader
Milorad Dodik is the only one in Bosnia-Herzegovina fighting for
respect for the principles outlined in the Dayton peace
agreement. "The goal of annihilating the Serbs is not lost. Ten
years ago, they attempted to pass a resolution on the Srebrenica
genocide at the UN Security Council, but we vetoed it," Lavrov
said in an interview with Banja Luka's ATV broadcaster
(Alternative Television), the capital of Republika Srpska,
Bosnia-Herzegovina's predominantly Serb entity.
