Thousands protested against the
government in Bratislava yesterday, as supporters of the three
opposition parties, Progressive Slovakia (PS), Christian
Democrat Movement (KDH), and Freedom and Solidarity (SAS),
gathered in the city centre to mark the 35th anniversary of
communism's demise. The demonstration was held under the banner
"We do not want to be subjugated by Russia again." The
organisers estimated that around 18 thousand people would
attend.
