A significant regional summit is
set to take place in Tirana on February 29, hosted by the
Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, focusing on the Growth Plan
for the Western Balkans. This high-level meeting aims to lay the
groundwork for a significant acceleration of the region's
socio-economic convergence with the European Union.
The new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans aims to deepen
regional integration through the regional common market and
gradually bring the Western Balkans closer to key areas of the
EU single market. Commissioner Várhelyi will travel to Tirana to
participate in the summit, as announced by the EU.
