Following Germany's decision to
reintroduce border controls, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) is
updating its plan to protect Greece's land borders with Turkey
along the Evros River, according to the daily Kathimerini. The
decision was made not so much because the country is facing
increased migratory pressure on the Evros, but to send a message
of caution in an era of widespread uncertainty.
