Senate Speaker Ignazio La Russa said
on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Washington Tuesday that
Italy was ready to play its part in Ukraine.
"Unity and shared vision are our strength but unity and vision
would be insufficient without coherence, which means a concrete
commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity on
which we cannot deviate," he said at a meeting of the presidents
of the NATO parliaments.
"Real burden-sharing is necessary," he added, "to achieve the
objectives. Italy is ready to do its part".
