According to the Financial Times,
the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) will hold the
largest joint command exercise since the end of the Cold War the
following year. This exercise will involve the participation of
31 countries, including Sweden. It is anticipated that more than
40,000 soldiers will take part in the exercise, which has been
organised to deter a potential attack by Russia against one of
the members of the alliance. According to officials from NATO,
the operation is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024 and is
anticipated to involve between 500 and 700 air combat missions,
in addition to more than 50 ships and approximately 41,000
troops.
