Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic
accused Kosovo of committing a "crime against humanity" by
attempting to ban transactions in Serbian dinars, a decision
that Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti defended at the UN
Security Council. The ban on the dinar is "just another element
in a series of systematic and widespread persecutions and
attacks against the Serbian people, in a nutshell, a crime
against humanity," he stated. Belgrade accuses Kosovo, in
particular, of attempting to deprive Kosovo Serbs of their
salaries and pensions, which Serbia has paid in dinars for
years, most often in cash.
