The Eco Guard (Eko Straza)
environmental group in Serbia called a protest against lithium
mining in Belgrade for August 10, local media reported. Eco
Guard stated in an X post that the protest will take place on
the date of the government's 40-day deadline to adopt a law on
lithium mining and ensure the implementation of its decision to
ban Rio Tinto's Jadar project. Eco Guard invited all Serbian
citizens to attend the protest, regardless of political
affiliation or ideology. "This is a protest for the benefit of
all citizens," it added, according to regional television
station N1.
