The Iranian film "My Favourite
Cake" by the director couple Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash
Sanaeeha, whose passports were confiscated by the authorities in
Tehran and thus could not go to Berlin, received the award from
one of the Berlinale's "independent juries," the "ecumenical"
one of the German Protestant and Catholic Churches. The
announcement came in Berlin at an awards ceremony, which, in the
case of "Keyke Mahboobe man" (the film's original title), was
picked up by two actors.
