Italy and Serbia started a
collaboration for Higher Music Education through the Guitar
joint master degree-Performing arts, a two-year course of
studies that has the value of the 2nd level academic diploma in
guitar - EQF7. The master degree was founded by the
Conservatorio Tartini in Trieste,
The degree is awarded jointly by the Tartini with the
University of Novi Sad - Academy of Arts Novi Sad (Serbia).
Their agreement was recognised by the Ministry of University and
Research in 2021 and by the Serbian Ministry in 2022. 'Although
it is common practice for universities, Italian conservatoires
could not yet count on the international joint degree issued by
MUR. Through the Joint master degree, every two years four
students selected by the two institutions have the opportunity
to complete the educational cycle through one year in Trieste
and one in Novi Sad, with the educational involvement of around
twenty teachers from the two institutions, knowing that they can
count on the full recognition of the title acquired both in
Italy and Serbia', Tartini's director Sandro Torlontano said.
The first graduate is guitarist Mihajlo Dordevic; he
completed his course on 25 October, obtaining the final title
with top marks and honours. 'We feel this is an important
achievement from the perspective of a Europe open to educational
synergies,' Torlontano concluded.
