Ten offers have been made by a
midnight deadline by domestic and international players to take
over the steelworks of Acciaierie d'Italia (ADI), which was
formerly known as ILVA, in Taranto, the extraordinary
commissioners of the steel operator in extraordinary
administration said Saturday.
According to a note, three of the offers were made for the whole
industrial complex by Baku Steel Company Cjsc + Azerbaijan
Investment Company Ojsc, Bedrock Industries management Co Inc
and Jindal Steel International.
Seven of the offers were instead interested in single assets,
including by groups Marcegaglia, Eusider and Sideralba.
ADI's main plant in the Puglia city of Taranto is one of the
largest in Europe and a major employer in the region and in the
South.
Last year, the government took charge of the group's factories
under a special administration procedure.
