A 57-year-old man died Tuesday
morning at an equestrian centre in Crespina Lorenzana, near
Pisa, the latest in a long spate of fatal workplace accidents in
Italy.
According to reports, the man was escorting a horse back into
the stables when the animal suddenly snapped, crushing him
against the gate jamb.
The victim, from Livorno, had been working for many years at the
stables and riding school.
He is the latest in a long string of fatal workplace accidents
in Italy.
Five men died after inhaling toxic gas in a sewer network near
Palermo last week, and seven died in a hydro power plant
blast near Bologna last month.
